2026 Greater China Civil Engineering Student Symposium
From April 10 to 12, 2026, the 2026 Greater China Civil Engineering Student Symposium, hosted by the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Zhejiang University, was successfully held. The event brought together more than 120 faculty and student representatives from over 10 prestigious institutions, including Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Southeast University, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Opening Ceremony Speeches
At the opening ceremony, distinguished guests delivered insightful remarks to encourage the young generation of engineers. Attendees included April Jane Lander (Immediate Past Director of ASCE Region 10), Hao Jiang (President of the ASCE Greater China Section), Wei Han (Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Affairs at Zhejiang University), and Xiqun Chen (Associate Dean of the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Zhejiang University).
Keynote Presentation
During the report session, Academician Weijian Zhao, a member of the Engineering Academy of Japan and Qiushi Chair Professor at Zhejiang University, delivered a keynote address titled “Research and Development of the New RCS Hybrid Structure System: Balancing Mechanical Performance and Industrialized Construction.” He provided a profound analysis of the future prospects of framework systems in the context of industrialized construction, sharing cutting-edge academic perspectives with all participants.
